Why do I get a 404 error (File not found) when I know the file exists?

If you have uploaded a scripting file (such as ASP or PHP) but do not have that particular scripting engine enabled, you will get a 404 error when you try to access that page.

To remedy this, you need to enable the relevant scripting language from within the control panel.

  • Log into the control panel
  • Click the Domains icon
  • Select the relevant domain
  • Click the Web Site Settings icon
  • Make sure the languages you wish to use are ticked and click Save
